Balanced Nutrition, Built In

Four things every puppy needs.
One bowl that covers them all.

BFF recipes are formulated around the four building blocks of a healthy puppy — so you can spend less time worrying about the bag, and more time enjoying the puppy stage.

Growth

Steady, joint-safe growth

Balanced, nutrient-dense meals help puppies — especially large breeds — grow at a safe, steady rate instead of a rapid spurt that strains developing joints.

Supports: healthy bones, hips and joints
Development

Sharper brain & immune development

Nutrient-dense, human-grade ingredients give growing puppies the building blocks for a sharp mind, healthy eyesight and a resilient immune system.

Supports: brain, vision and immunity
Digestion

Easy on tiny, developing tummies

Gently cooked, human-grade ingredients with natural fibre are simple to digest — helping settle soft stools and reduce the tummy upsets common in young pups.

Supports: firmer stools, happy gut
Wellbeing

Shiny coat, steady energy, happy pup

Real, bioavailable protein and healthy fats show up in the small things — a glossy coat, consistent energy and a puppy who's genuinely excited for mealtimes.

Supports: coat health and daily energy
Sensitive Tummies

Extra care for delicate digestion

Some puppies need more than the basics. Our Lamb recipe is a gentler option for puppies prone to soft stools or settling in from another food.

Supports: firmer stools, easier settling-in

Why Our Recipes Work

Real ingredients, chosen for what they do

No mystery meals or vague "meat derivatives." Every Brunswick Fur Food recipe is built from named, human-grade ingredients — sourced locally and selected for a specific job.

Digestion

Easily Digestible Proteins

Chicken and lamb are gentle on growing tummies, making them easier for puppies to digest than heavily processed meat meals.

Digestion

No Corn, Soy or Wheat

We leave out the complex grains that can be tough on a puppy's developing digestive system.

Digestion

Sweet Potato, Pumpkin & Beet Pulp

Fibre-rich vegetables that help regulate digestion and improve stool quality as your puppy adjusts to solid food.

Wellbeing

Prebiotics & Probiotics

Support the growth of healthy gut bacteria, helping improve digestion and reduce tummy discomfort.

Made with Real, Local Ingredients

Three recipes. One job each. Built for your puppy's actual needs.

No mystery meals, no fillers. Every Brunswick Fur Food recipe is gently cooked in Melbourne from human-grade ingredients and formulated with our nutrition advisor, Dr. Davide Stefanutti, for all life stages — including growing puppies.

The Growth Path

Puppy nutrition needs change every few months — so does our feeding plan

Your puppy's portion is recalculated at each stage, based on weight, breed size and activity — not a generic chart on the back of a bag.

01

8–12 weeks · Settling In

Small, frequent meals (3–4/day) on a softened, easy-to-digest recipe while your puppy adjusts to solid food and a new home.

02

3–6 months · Peak Growth

Calorie and protein needs rise fast during teething and the biggest growth spurt — portions increase weekly, not monthly.

03

6–12 months · Building Muscle

Growth rate slows and steadies. Meals shift to 2/day, with continued joint and coat support as coordination develops.

04

12–24 months · Adult Transition

Small breeds are usually ready for adult portions around 10–14 months; large and giant breeds often benefit from staying on a growth-support plan until 18–24 months.

Gently Cooked, Not Raw or Ultra-Processed

How gently-cooked fresh food compares

Most puppy parents land on us after trying shelf kibble, or wondering whether to go raw. Here's the general trade-off between the three approaches.

What matters Dry kibble Raw diet BFF Gently Cooked
Processing High-heat extruded, shelf-stable Uncooked, higher handling risk Lightly cooked — safe and digestible
Ingredients Often blended meat meals + grains Raw meat, variable balance Named human-grade meat, veg & no fillers
Digestibility Can be tough on young tummies Nutritious, but higher bacterial risk Formulated to be easy on sensitive tummies
Formulated by Varies by brand Rarely vet-reviewed Vet nutritionist, WSAVA guidelines
Where to buy Supermarkets, pet stores Specialty raw suppliers Delivered fresh, direct to your Melbourne door

Puppy Food FAQs

Straight answers to the questions we get asked most

What's the best way to start my puppy on fresh food?+
Start with our weekly trial pack so your puppy can try a few different meals before you commit to a subscription. If your puppy has been eating kibble, we recommend a gradual transition over 7–10 days rather than a sudden full swap, to help settle their tummy.
Which recipe is best for a puppy with a sensitive tummy?+
Our Lamb recipe tends to be the gentlest option, since lamb is naturally easy on sensitive stomachs. We also leave out corn, soy and wheat across all recipes, and add fibre-rich vegetables like sweet potato and pumpkin to help firm up stools.
Do large breed puppies need a different puppy food?+
Large and giant breed puppies generally benefit from steady, controlled growth rather than a rapid spurt, since growing too fast can strain developing joints. Our nutrition advisor, Dr. Davide Stefanutti, can help guide portion sizes for bigger breeds — just ask us when you set up your plan.
Is fresh, gently cooked food better than raw or dry kibble?+
We don't feed raw — our meals are lightly cooked to make them safe and digestible while keeping as much of the nutritional value as possible, without the handling risks of raw feeding. Compared to dry kibble, gently cooked food tends to be easier to digest and many owners see firmer stools and better energy after switching.
How much should I feed my puppy each day?+
It depends on your puppy's current weight, expected adult size, age and activity level, so there's no single number that fits every dog. Get in touch and our team can help you work out a starting portion, and adjust it as your puppy grows.
When do I switch my puppy from puppy portions to adult portions?+
Most small and medium breeds are ready between 10 and 14 months, while large and giant breeds often do better staying on a growth-support plan until 18 to 24 months. The clearest sign is growth slowing down as your puppy nears their expected adult weight — your vet can confirm timing at a check-up.
How do I transition my dog onto Brunswick Fur Food?+
It depends on what you're currently feeding. If your pup is already on another gently cooked food, the switch is usually quick. Otherwise, we recommend starting with a trial pack and introducing a little more BFF each day so your puppy's tummy has time to adjust.
Is Brunswick Fur Food vet-approved?+
Yes — every recipe is formulated by a veterinarian with a PhD in Animal Nutrition, following World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) guidelines on selecting pet foods, and is suitable as a complete diet for all life stages, including puppies.
How does the subscription and delivery work?+
Order a trial box to find the meals your puppy loves, then subscribe for fortnightly delivery of two weekly meal plans — with a 5% discount when you subscribe. You can pause, skip or cancel any time, and if the food doesn't work out for your dog, we'll make it right.
