Why It Started
When we rescued Hugo from the Lost Dogs’ Home, the first thing we wanted to do was give him the best start in his new life. We headed to the shops to buy dog food — and that’s when the surprise hit.
Coming from India, where dogs are simply part of the family and eat unprocessed food at home(or off the street), we were shocked to see shelf after shelf of nothing but ultra-processed kibble and cans. Like any new dog parent, we started experimenting — mixing raw meat with kibble, throwing in chicken drumsticks, trying whatever the internet recommended. Some days Hugo ate happily, other days he struggled with digestion or left food untouched. It was confusing, inconsistent, and we kept thinking: there has to be a better way.
That’s where the idea for Brunswick Fur Food began: fresh, gently cooked, human-grade meals for dogs. No hidden fillers, no empty calories — just real food, made locally, the way we’d cook for our own pets.
Mission
At Brunswick Fur Food, we want to make fresh dog food accessible to all dogs in our community. Our mission is to improve the lives of dogs around us through real, fresh nutrition — made from human-grade ingredients, sourced locally, and backed by science.
Because when dogs eat better, they live better.

At Brunswick Fur Food, we are all about building long-term relationships – with you as well as your dog. When you sign up with BFF, you’re not just joining Melbourne’s friendliest dog food company. You’re joining a family who adore dogs. Every day, we receive dozens of messages from customers requesting advice about their dog’s diets, what treats they should give them, and whether BFF can deliver somewhere else (answer is almost always yes). We are always working with our customers to improve their dogs’ lives.
Our days involve buying fresh produce from Queen vic market, tasting new recipes (oh yes, they do), chatting with our cheery nutritionist Davide, and doing more than our fair share of ad-hoc and urgent deliveries.
