Brunswick Fur Food
Fresh dog food

Does this sound like your puppy?
The first few months set the tone for your dog's whole life — and a lot of common puppy struggles trace straight back to what's in the bowl.
-
Common in the first few months as puppies adjust to new food and a new environment.
Soft or runny stools
-
Especially in large breeds, where nutrition directly affects joint and bone development.
Slow or uneven growth
-
A sign the food isn't giving your puppy what they need to thrive.
Low energy after meals
-
Often linked to a lack of real, bioavailable protein and healthy fats.
Dull coat or flaky skin
-
Puppies can be picky about food that doesn't taste or feel right.
Fussy or inconsistent appetite
-
Some puppies need gentler, simpler ingredients to settle in.
Sensitive tummy or food reactions
These are common in the puppy stage, but a proper fresh food transition can make a real difference within weeks.
Four things every puppy needs. One bowl that covers them all.
BFF recipes are formulated around the four building blocks of a healthy puppy — so you can spend less time worrying about the bag, and more time enjoying the puppy stage.
Steady, joint-safe growth
Balanced, nutrient-dense meals help puppies — especially large breeds — grow at a safe, steady rate instead of a rapid spurt that strains developing joints.
Sharper brain & immune development
Nutrient-dense, human-grade ingredients give growing puppies the building blocks for a sharp mind, healthy eyesight and a resilient immune system.
Easy on tiny, developing tummies
Gently cooked, human-grade ingredients with natural fibre are simple to digest — helping settle soft stools and reduce the tummy upsets common in young pups.
Shiny coat, steady energy, happy pup
Real, bioavailable protein and healthy fats show up in the small things — a glossy coat, consistent energy and a puppy who's genuinely excited for mealtimes.
Extra care for delicate digestion
Some puppies need more than the basics. Our Lamb recipe is a gentler option for puppies prone to soft stools or settling in from another food.
Know exactly what's in the bowl
Every ingredient is named on the pack, and every recipe is formulated with our nutrition advisor, Dr. Davide Stefanutti — so there's nothing to guess at.
Real ingredients, chosen for what they do
No mystery meals or vague "meat derivatives." Every Brunswick Fur Food recipe is built from named, human-grade ingredients — sourced locally and selected for a specific job.
Easily Digestible Proteins
Chicken and lamb are gentle on growing tummies, making them easier for puppies to digest than heavily processed meat meals.
No Corn, Soy or Wheat
We leave out the complex grains that can be tough on a puppy's developing digestive system.
Sweet Potato, Pumpkin & Beet Pulp
Fibre-rich vegetables that help regulate digestion and improve stool quality as your puppy adjusts to solid food.
Prebiotics & Probiotics
Support the growth of healthy gut bacteria, helping improve digestion and reduce tummy discomfort.
Fresh food, without the boutique price
Prescription hypoallergenic diets are among the most expensive food you can buy. Fresh doesn't have to be.

Fresh food only works if it's actually built for growing puppies
A puppy's body is doing more in its first year than at any other point in its life — nutrition needs to keep up.
-
Gently Cooked
Cooked to protect nutrients, not destroy them
High-heat extrusion — how most kibble is made — can damage the very nutrients puppies need most. Gently cooking preserves them.
-
Balanced
Formulated for growth, not just maintenance
A growing puppy needs different ratios of protein, calcium and fat than an adult dog — recipes built for "all life stages" often miss this.
The food is step one. Here's the whole growth path.
Your puppy's nutrition needs change fast in the first two years — here's how we keep up at every stage.
-
1
8–12 weeks · Settling In
Small, frequent meals (3–4/day) on a softened, easy-to-digest recipe while your puppy adjusts to solid food and a new home.
-
2
3–6 months · Peak Growth
Calorie and protein needs rise fast during teething and the biggest growth spurt — portions increase weekly, not monthly.
-
3
6–12 months · Building Muscle
Growth rate slows and steadies. Meals shift to 2/day, with continued joint and coat support as coordination develops.
-
4
12–24 months · Adult Transition
Small breeds are usually ready for adult portions around 10–14 months; large and giant breeds often benefit from staying on a growth-support plan until 18–24 months.
Three recipes. One job each. Built for your puppy's actual needs.
No mystery meals, no fillers. Every Brunswick Fur Food recipe is gently cooked in Melbourne from human-grade ingredients and formulated with our nutrition advisor, Dr. Davide Stefanutti, for all life stages — including growing puppies.

Lamb
Premium Australian lamb meat and offal — our go-to pick for puppies with a sensitive stomach, prone to soft stools or settling into a new food.
Beef
Grass-fed Australian beef blended with nutrient-dense offal, for puppies that need extra energy and support through their biggest growth spurts.
How gently-cooked fresh food compares
Most puppy parents land on us after trying shelf kibble, or wondering whether to go raw. Here's the general trade-off between the three approaches.
| What matters | Dry kibble | Raw diet | BFF Gently Cooked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Processing | High-heat extruded, shelf-stable | Uncooked, higher handling risk | Lightly cooked — safe and digestible |
| Ingredients | Often blended meat meals + grains | Raw meat, variable balance | Named human-grade meat, veg & no fillers |
| Digestibility | Can be tough on young tummies | Nutritious, but higher bacterial risk | Formulated to be easy on sensitive tummies |
| Formulated by | Varies by brand | Rarely vet-reviewed | Vet nutritionist, WSAVA guidelines |
| Where to buy | Supermarkets, pet stores | Specialty raw suppliers | Delivered fresh, direct to your Melbourne door |

Why puppy parents choose Brunswick Fur Food
Most puppy kibble is 30–60% carbohydrates with rendered by-products, right when your pup needs real nutrition most. Our fresh puppy food subscription uses the same ingredients you'd buy at the butcher or local grocer.
Human-grade, locally sourced proteins
Real beef, chicken and lamb — not meat meal, not by-products. The same quality you'd cook for a growing puppy.
Gentle on tiny, developing tummies
High-quality proteins with fibre-rich veggies help settle soft stools and support steady digestion as your puppy adjusts to solid food.
Shiny coat, steady energy
Targeted omega-3 & omega-6 fatty acids plus vitamins support coat health and daily energy from the first weeks.
Portion-controlled for healthy growth
Pre-portioned packs are recalculated at each growth stage — no guesswork, just steady, joint-safe growth.
Frozen to lock in all the goodness
Gently cooked then immediately frozen — no artificial preservatives needed. Nutrients stay exactly as intended for your growing pup.

Puppy Food FAQs
Straight answers to the questions we get asked most
Start with our weekly trial pack so your puppy can try a few different meals before you commit to a subscription. If your puppy has been eating kibble, we recommend a gradual transition over 7–10 days rather than a sudden full swap, to help settle their tummy.
Our Lamb recipe tends to be the gentlest option, since lamb is naturally easy on sensitive stomachs. We also leave out corn, soy and wheat across all recipes, and add fibre-rich vegetables like sweet potato and pumpkin to help firm up stools.
Large and giant breed puppies generally benefit from steady, controlled growth rather than a rapid spurt, since growing too fast can strain developing joints. Our nutrition advisor, Dr. Davide Stefanutti, can help guide portion sizes for bigger breeds — just ask us when you set up your plan.
We don't feed raw — our meals are lightly cooked to make them safe and digestible while keeping as much of the nutritional value as possible, without the handling risks of raw feeding. Compared to dry kibble, gently cooked food tends to be easier to digest and many owners see firmer stools and better energy after switching.
It depends on your puppy's current weight, expected adult size, age and activity level, so there's no single number that fits every dog. Get in touch and our team can help you work out a starting portion, and adjust it as your puppy grows.
Most small and medium breeds are ready between 10 and 14 months, while large and giant breeds often do better staying on a growth-support plan until 18 to 24 months. The clearest sign is growth slowing down as your puppy nears their expected adult weight — your vet can confirm timing at a check-up.
It depends on what you're currently feeding. If your pup is already on another gently cooked food, the switch is usually quick. Otherwise, we recommend starting with a trial pack and introducing a little more BFF each day so your puppy's tummy has time to adjust.
Yes — every recipe is formulated by a veterinarian with a PhD in Animal Nutrition, following World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) guidelines on selecting pet foods, and is suitable as a complete diet for all life stages, including puppies.
Order a trial box to find the meals your puppy loves, then subscribe for fortnightly delivery of two weekly meal plans — with a 5% discount when you subscribe. You can pause, skip or cancel any time, and if the food doesn't work out for your dog, we'll make it right.
